The accession consists of student notes, teaching notes, manuscripts of papers, slides and other papers generated by oceanographer Alfred James Carsola. Includes student notes in geology, oceanography, physics and other subjects taken by Carsola at University of Southern California, University of California, Los Angeles, and at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Also includes course outlines, syllabi and notes for classes in environmental science, geology, oceanography and physics taught by Carsola at San Diego State University, Grossmont College, University of San Diego and Mesa College.
